- Greets patients and visitors, checks patients in and out of the ASC, and monitors patient flow to support customer service standards.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives and supports departmental and organizational objectives.
2. Registers patients by verifying demographic, identification, insurance, and account information; updates registration and EHR systems as appropriate. 3. Explains registration, consent, financial, and facility-required forms and obtains required signatures in accordance with established policies and procedures. 4. Collects, posts, and reconciles patient co-payments, deductibles, and balances due, and issues receipts in accordance with payment handling procedures. 5. Verifies patient identification and insurance information to support accurate authorization, registration, and billing processes. 6. Prepares patient charts and supporting documentation, ensuring all required records are complete, accurate, and properly filed. 7. Coordinates pre-operative registration activities, required laboratory documentation, procedure-related paperwork, and communication with physician offices as needed. 8. Answers, screens, routes, and responds to telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner. 9. Processes subpoenas, court orders, and requests for patient information in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and statutes. 10. Copies, scans, files, retrieves, stores, and audits medical records to ensure completeness, accessibility, and regulatory compliance. 11. Demonstrates sensitivity to patient needs and promotes a positive patient experience. 12. Maintains effective communication and professional working relationships with patients, physicians, teammates, and other customers. |
